The Kerry Bolger Centre and Annual Giving 2015
I have been delighted to see the way in which our College has grown since opening in 2012 with 219 students to 540 students today – and we expect to welcome over 600 students in 2016. This leads us to a new challenge – expanding our facilities to make room for the growing number of students.
In Term 2, 2015, work will commence on new Junior School classrooms at Cornish College. On behalf of the Cornish College Council, I am delighted to announce that the new classrooms will be named The Kerry Bolger Centre. After 20 years as the Head of Cornish Campus and the past three and a half years as Cornish College Principal, Kerry Bolger has been at the heart of our College and community.
Through careful stewardship of our finances over the past three years, we have already set aside most of the $1.34 million required for the building. An Australian Government Block Grant has also been secured. Our 2015 Annual Giving program has the clear aim of raising the difference between the funds already raised and the actual cost of the building, including fixtures and fittings. This amount is $300,000, and that is what we are asking our College community, to raise.
Donation forms will be received by all families by post between 11-13 May 2015. Forms are also available now at the College’s Administration Office. An online version of the form will be available on this web site next week.
Today, our students benefit from past generosity. Our community’s support for this program will be one of the best ways to ensure our College’s infrastructure will meet our future needs. We cannot do this on our own, but together, I know we can achieve this goal. Every gift will make a difference.

You will also most likely have heard the saying that it takes a village to raise a child and Cornish College is such a place; an environment where young people are taught the importance of being at their best while they learn to care about themselves, others and the world they live in. At Cornish College we achieve this through our nationally and internationally recognised curriculum, delivered by our award winning staff, and through our extensive facilities and resources located on 100 acres of stunning parkland (with its own farm and wetlands), actively aided by our very passionate and supportive community. We achieve excellent academic results, offer outstanding creative and performing arts programs, a wide range of sports, a full program of community and social service, and an award winning academic program which links sustainable living and learning to a program of inquiry designed to engage students through their natural sense of curiosity. If you are looking for a partnership with an indpendent school that delivers a unique, stimulating and exciting educational offering, where your child will be valued, nurtured and stretched to their full potential, then we believe Cornish College is the place for your family.
We would like to invite you to visit the school by attending one of our regular School Tours, where you can explore our excellent facilities and wonderful natural surrounds, and chat with many of our staff and students. We are confident that having met them you will want the same education for your own children.
Enjoy visiting our website today. We look forward to showing you around our school in due course.
