Sport Climbing

Our sport climbing group is a popular way to build strength, endurance and have fun.

The group is open to climbers of all ages, from ELC to Year 12, although parents need to stay if their child is under 11 years old. The group climbs at Bayside Rock in Carrum Downs on Friday afternoons between 4.00pm and 5.30pm.

If your child is interested, please contact Mr Michael Davis, Operations Manager, by email

The group made this video to show what they do.

Students compete at a local, state and national level throughout the year.

In July 2016, twenty students from Years 7 to 10 took part in the Bayside Rock All Schools Sport Climbing Competition.

After two hours of heats, the top eight scorers in each category competed in finals, where they had to see how far they could get on one specified climb.

Many of our students hadn’t competed before and it was a great day with 11 of our team reaching finals.

Well done to all who took part and we’d like to give a special mention to students who were placed in their categories:

Year 7 and 8 girls- Miranda F 2nd, Shelby N 3rd

Year 7 and 8 boys- Jordan S 2nd

Year 9 and 10 girls- Kennedy L 2nd, Holly S 3rd

Year 9 and 10 boys- Ben C 2nd, Joshua D 3rd
