Oldest, youngest and 700th students cut a cake to celebrate five year Foundation DayStudent numbers have more than tripled at Cornish College as it celebrates its fifth year. The College welcomed 701 students at the start of the 2017 school year, after opening in 2012 as a new co-educational independent school with 220 students.

At the five-year Foundation Day on 16 February 2017, students celebrated at a special assembly with personal stories, music and cake. More than 200 staff, alumni, parents and friends of the school marked the occasion at a formal gathering overlooking the College’s wetlands in the evening.

Despite its fast growth, Cornish College is still a medium size co-educational school where students are known and learning is personalised and engaging.

Principal Vicki Steer said Foundation Day was a chance for everyone who has been involved in the College’s growth to celebrate.

“Our school thrives today because of our community’s belief in our educational philosophy of preparing students for life. We recognise the importance of academic rigour, creativity and developing strong foundation skills for learning,” said Ms Steer.
