Bus Information

We can help your child get to school with our extensive bus service.

Map of bus routes from Hampton to Mount ElizaWe cover a wide area, from Hampton in the north to Mount Eliza in the south and Lyndhurst in the east, with many more Bayside suburbs in-between.

There are nine school bus routes provided by Ventura and our current routes can be found below (scroll past the new route information).

We introduced new routes in 2016, which continue into 2017 – see these routes in the next section, with details of new bus stops and times.

Registration information, along with the College’s Bus Standards of Behaviour, can be found by  clicking here

New bus technology

All students will use their ID card to swipe on and off the bus, and this will help the College to track student journeys – and parents will not need to contact the College to book casual journey because the ID card will track these.

This technology also links to a new iTunes mobile app called Raptor Lite. By using the app, parents can see when their child boarded a bus and when they will arrive at school or their home bus stop.

raptor-liteYou can download Raptor Lite for free from the App Store and find the Cornish College routes by selecting ‘server’ then ‘MDC_APP_03’ before entering our login details (parents can contact the Office for this information on 9781 9000). After logging-in, click ‘add’ and select Ventura Cornish College, and the specific route you’d like to follow.

Or, track buses from any device at and enter our login details.

Bus booking options:

We provide three options:

  1. Permanent Full Time – This option is one easy transaction securing a seat from Monday to Friday, morning and afternoon till the end of the term or year.
  2. Permanent Part Time – Similar to the previous option, this is one easy transaction securing a seat on your nominated day/s and time/s (morning or afternoons or both). Days are unable to be swapped. For additional services, we recommend you purchase our third option ‘Casual trips’ in advance.
  3. Casual trip – Students can use their ID card for casual trips. Swiping on at the start of a journey will allow them to travel and the cost will be added to your term fee statement. We recommend that the student advises the bus driver of the stop number they need when boarding the bus.

Bus Booking Fares per Term:

We have split all fares into three zones, with Zone 1 being the highest and Zone 3 being the lowest fare.

Prices are based on a Permanent Full Time.

Zone 1 – $520 per term
Zone 2 – $375 per term
Zone 3 – $280 per term
Casual – $6 per trip

The following examples are applied to Permanent Part Time ONLY

How you can work out the amount you would have to pay

Example 1:
If your child lives in Zone 1 and is taking 2 trips in the morning and 1 trip in the afternoon, that equals 3 trips per week. Your charge component will be 0.3.

Formula: Cost per Zone 1, per Term is $520 X 0.3 = $156.
The amount to be paid for Zone 1 per Term is $156.

Example 2:
If your child lives in Zone 3 and is taking 3 trips in the morning and 2 trip in the afternoon, that equals 5 trips per week. Your charge component will be 0.5.

Formula: Cost per Zone 3, per Term is $280 X 0.5 = $140.00.
The amount to be paid for Zone 3 per Term is $140.00

If you have any queries please contact Tara Kirschenberg or Shirley Torres by email or by phone on 9781 9000.
