Annual Giving 2016

Make a Difference

Community is paramount at Cornish College. By working together, we can continue to grow and provide educational opportunities that really make a difference for current and future students.

annual-giving-2016-vickiAt this time each year we launch our Annual Giving Appeal and ask the community to consider a special contribution to support our continued growth.

This year we plan to invest in a dedicated Year 7 Centre to open at the start of the 2018 school year. The Year 7 Centre forms part of the next stage of the Buildings and Grounds Master Plan. It follows last year’s successful build of the Kerry Bolger Centre, which houses our Years 4 to 6 students in large, light classrooms and provides common space, supporting innovative teaching and creative learning.

The Kerry Bolger Centre was completed ahead of schedule and under budget by Raysett Constructions, overseen by the College Council’s Building Sub Committee.

I know this can give us all great confidence in future building work.

I have only been here for a short time but it is clear to me that Cornish College is flourishing thanks to our community’s support over a period of many years. I want to say thank you for everything you have helped us to achieve so far, it is because of you that we can continue to grow and help our students realise their potential.

Year 7 Centre

This year’s Annual Giving Appeal will help us create a dedicated Year 7 Centre to support flexible teaching and effective learning from Term 1, 2018.

Year 7 is our largest intake year, with new families joining us and new friendships forming. As students make the move from primary to secondary life, they embark on an important phase in their academic journey.

The Centre will provide purpose built facilities with spacious classrooms equipped to enhance learning, and a central space for students to connect with each other.

Students across many year levels will benefit as the new Centre will free up valuable space where the existing Year 7 classrooms are currently located.

Investing in Their Future

Thank you to parents who support our voluntary building fund every year. These funds underpin the continued growth of our fantastic school.

Our Annual Giving Appeal asks parents, grandparents, teachers and the wider community to consider a special contribution to a specific project. The Appeal aims to raise the difference between building funds and the actual cost of the Year 7 Centre.

There is no ongoing commitment and all gifts regardless of size will be greatly appreciated. All Annual Giving gifts are tax deductible.

With your generosity, we can achieve our goals faster and ensure our facilities truly meet the needs of our teachers and students.

If you would like to see first-hand what a difference you can make, please contact us to arrange a meeting.
