Cheerleading sessions – Years 3 to 9

We are offering Years 3 to 9 students an opportunity to take part in Cheerleading sessions after school on campus. This activity will suit students who have an interest in gymnastics, acrobatics or dance.

All-Star cheer is made up of three main parts:

Jumps and tumble components  similar to the floor exercise in gymnastics, incorporating athletic jumps and tumbling, stunts and pyramids

Acrobatic component – where the team works to lift one person (the flyer) in the air

Dance component – a mix of what is known as Pom and contemporary style dancing as a team

The sessions include strength and flexibility training as well as skill practice from a qualified coach with the aim for the group to attain performance standard and have the opportunity to perform to the school community later in the year. Sessions will be led by local accredited coach Argine Harutyanyan.

These sessions take place in the Gym at Cornish College between 3.45pm and 5.15pm on Monday afternoons.
