In an era where digital connectivity is an integral part of our day-to-day and where social media is increasingly embedded in young people’s lives, Principal Nicola Forrest emphasises the importance of providing students with the necessary tools and values to engage with social media safely and responsibly, in the recent Independent Schools feature in The Age.

At Cornish College, our belief is not in banning devices, but on integrating social media education seamlessly into everyday life. We recognise that a comprehensive approach is required to develop skills in handling social media, ensuring that students understand its impact and can navigate it confidently. This approach is underpinned by the College’s core values of respect, integrity, creativity, compassion… always with courage.

Central to our success in promoting online safety is the collaborative effort between parents, staff, and students. Recognising that managing online safety is a shared responsibility, the College engages parents and staff through newsletters and other resources which include tools for understanding online safety.
