We congratulate the Class of 2021 for having successfully achieved their Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) in 2021. We are so proud of each and every one of them.

Last year students received their VCE results along with their ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank). The ATAR is one avenue for entry into tertiary study, with increasing numbers of students receiving early offers for tertiary courses, prior to receiving their ATAR at the end of the year. Along with the VCE, a well-rounded education at Cornish College is providing a variety of pathways for our students.

We are now able to share the details of the Class of 2021 tertiary offers. The high percentage of first, second and third round preferences reflects the work that our staff have done in counselling and advising students and families as they made their Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) choices.

These choices were based on a deep understanding by our staff about each of the students and the high level of agency our students developed to understand themselves and the courses that they were best suited to. This highlights our strong model of Academic Care and the quality student-teacher relationships of which we are so proud.

  • 98% of students who completed the VTAC application process received an offer
  • 70% of students received their first preference
  • 82% of students received either their first, second or third preference

Our students have selected a breadth of courses reflecting their diverse interests and passions. They include Acting, Arts, Biomedical Science, Biomedicine, Bioscience, Business, Commerce, Commercial Cookery/Patisserie, Construction Management, Criminology, Design/Business, Education Studies, Engineering, Exercise and Sport Science, General Studies, Health and Physical Education, Health Sciences, Information Technology, Law, Marine Biology, Marketing, Midwifery, Nursing, Paramedicine, Photography, Psychological Science, Science.

We have farewelled a class of well-rounded, articulate, confident young adults who have the necessary skills to communicate, empathise, and find creative solutions to problems. We thank each of them for making a difference in our community and will watch with great interest as they continue to do so throughout their lives.
