Cornish has taken the win at the SIS Public Speaking Championships for the second year in a row with three of the four members returning to retain their title. Imagine… program coordinator Ms Diane Koutsakis said of the team “They were outstanding; committed, hardworking and beautiful ambassadors of our school.”

Well done to Sara (Year 9), Aaron (Year 8), Tierney (Year 10), and Jake (Year 8) on a fantastic result.

Tierney was voted best speaker; achieving an exceptionally high score for both her prepared speech “The world is not as scary as it seems,” and her impromptu speech.

Sara is an exceptional speaker who managed to wow her audience in the four minutes with her take on “The world is not as scary as it seems.”

Aaron delivered a light-heart yet poignant speech on “Reality TV is not reality.”

Jake displayed sophisticated thinking and sincere passion during his debut at the public speaking competition voicing his thoughts on “Democracy is an illusion.”
