We congratulate each and every one of our Year 12 students, the seventh Year 12 cohort to complete VCE at Cornish College, for having successfully achieved their Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) in this challenging year and we are thrilled with their results – the best yet for our VCE cohort.
Together with their VCE results, our Year 12s also received their ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank), for those who completed exams. The ATAR is one avenue for entry into tertiary study and I congratulate those students who received early offers for tertiary courses, prior to receiving today’s ATAR. I will provide an update on the post-secondary destinations of our Year 12 cohort early in 2022.
Here is a snapshot of our results:
For every student who has done their very best in this challenging year, we are so proud of them all and congratulate them on their positive learning behaviours and agility that resulted in outcomes that represent significant personal growth and development and will most certainly hold them in good stead for their futures.
We know that the Class of 2021 can speak proudly of their Cornish College education as so much more than a score. Each student has undertaken a broad range of learning experiences beyond core academia and, as a result, leaves Cornish College well-prepared to take their place as explorers in our world.
Our students’ successes are testament to the strength of our community and the way Cornish College works from Early Childhood to VCE to help students develop as individuals. I extend my thanks to all Cornish College staff and community who have contributed to the education of these young people. The relationships we build as we work together to support our students truly makes a difference.
This year we farewell a class of agile, independent and confident young adults who have proven their ability to be resilient and find creative solutions to problems. We thank each of them for their contributions to Cornish College and will watch with great interest as they continue to make a difference throughout their lives.
With my very best wishes
Nicola Forrest – Principal
