We congratulate the Class of 2022 for having successfully achieved their Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) in 2022. We are so proud of each and every one of them.

Last year students received their VCE results along with their ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank). The ATAR is one avenue for entry into tertiary study, with increasing numbers of students receiving early offers for tertiary courses, prior to receiving their ATAR at the end of the year. Along with the VCE, a well-rounded education at Cornish College is providing a variety of pathways for our students.

We are now able to share the details of the Class of 2022 tertiary offers and destinations. The high percentage of first, second and third round preferences reflects the work that all our staff, with particular support from our Student Futures and Pathways leader, Emily Hall, have done in counselling and advising the students and their families as they made their Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) choices. 98% of students who completed the VTAC application process received an offer.

These choices were based on a deep understanding by our staff about each of the students and the high level of agency our students developed to understand themselves and make realistic choices about the courses that they were best suited to. This highlights our strong model of Academic Care and the quality student-teacher relationships of which we are so proud.

Our students have selected a breadth of courses reflecting their diverse interests and passions. They include Accounting, Architectural Design, Arts, Aviation, Biomedicine, Building and Construction, Business, Computer Science, Design, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Science, Exercise and Sport Science, Film, Game Design, Health Sciences, Laboratory Technology, Law, Marketing, Media and Communication, Music, Nursing, Osteopathy, Politics, Philosophy, Primary and Secondary Education, Psychology and Science.

We have farewelled a class of well-rounded, articulate, confident young adults who have the necessary skills to communicate, empathise, and find creative solutions to problems. We thank each of them for making a difference and being the difference in our community and will watch with great interest as they continue to do so throughout their lives.

We look forward to welcoming them back to the Class of 2022 One Year Reunion, which will be held later this year, and hearing more about all the exciting things they have been doing in 2023.
